on Green Infrastructure

Phase 1 completed!

In April 2022, SCCAEPA, partnering with San Gabriel Education Foundation (SEF), was awarded an Environmental Justice (EJ) Small Grant.

This is to offer a 3-phased education and community outreach program focused on green infrastructure to the San Gabriel valley schools/students and its associated larger communities. Students from Jefferson Middle School participated in learning activities in the classroom, in the field and in building activities including mini-sand filters and mecosm biofilters! 

We also had a final biofilter mesocosm water treatment competition!

Phase 2 started!

The program has started Phase 2: developing and training student ambassadors for community outreach. Students are in training on May 3, 10, and 17, to prepare to the exciting community event on May 20!
