SCCAEPA Joining the Celebration of World Environment Day

Southern California Chinese-American Environmental Protection Association (SCCAEPA) is joining the celebration of World Environment Day on June 5 June, 2022. s the flagship festival in the field of the global environment, aims to promote environmental action. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), World Environment Day has been celebrated annually since 1974 and has grown into the world’s largest environmental advocacy platform. It aims to raise public awareness and promote actions to protect our environment. 

The theme of 2022 World Environment Day is “Only One Earth” Focusing on “Practice sustainable life and live in harmony with nature”. It calls for transformative changes to policies and choices to enable cleaner, greener, and sustainable living in harmony with nature. It will focus on the need to live sustainably in harmony with nature, and our possibilities for shifting to a greener lifestyle through both policies and individual choices. 

SCCAEPA, in collaboration with the American Educated Chinese (AEC) Foundation, is joining the World Environment Day celebration by hosting the 2022 Youth Environmental Summer Camp to prepare the next generation to become leaders and advocators of environmental protection. The theme of the 2022 summer camp is “California Youth Action”. SCCAEPA and AEC have registered as participating organizations of the World Environment Day celebration, by holding the summer camp opening ceremony on that day (June 5, 2022).
